Welcome to S.T.E.M., which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math!  In Matt S.T.E.M. Specials, you will participate in many exciting challenges throughout the year.  These challenges will help you learn more about the Engineering Design Process, which includes ASK, IMAGINE, PLAN, CREATE, TEST and IMPROVE.  We don't give up in S.T.E.M., and a good engineer is never done!  When I am not enjoying S.T.E.M, my other passions are spending time with my family, enjoying the outdoors, cooking, woodworking, scale modeling, and collecting comic books.

Hello Matt students and families! I am so excited to be working in Matt’s SEED Class. SEED stands for Students Engaged in Exploration and Discovery. In class, students learn about many different aspects of agriculture like gardening in different ways, growing and tasting different crops, composting, caring for animals like our chickens or Oreo the guinea pig, and more. In SEED class, not just plants bloom, but a student’s interest in nature, gardening, and agriculture is encouraged to blossom and flourish. When not gardening here, I am enjoying my family, working in my yard at home, or maybe enjoying a craft project.

I have been an elementary school Physical Education Teacher in Forsyth County since 2002.  I was raised in Jackson, Mississippi and received both my BS Degree and MEd Degree from Mississippi State University.  Hailstate!

My passion for sports as a child is what directed me into my profession as a PE teacher.  My desire is that your child will have fun in the gym while at the same time learning the fundamentals of sports and physical fitness.  I look forward to another year of PE and being a part of the Matt family!

When I am not at school, I love watching college sports (especially football) and enjoy walking and hiking.  I also like to spend time with my husband and two grown children.

Brigette Trigg- Music

I have been teaching music since 1997. I have taught band, chorus and general music. I started my teaching career as a high school band director. I then moved into a middle school and high school chorus teaching position for a few years. But, in 2002 I found my “home” at Matt Elementary. I discovered my passion for teaching elementary music. I enjoy inspiring a love for music in my students.

I have a wonderful life outside of school. I have a fabulous husband and four amazing children that I adore. I am also very active in the music ministry at my church. I play electric bass on the Worship Team and I am the Worship Choir Director. I try to keep my life filled with joy and music.
