    I have been teaching in Forsyth County since 2001. I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. I have a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont. I love engaging students in innovative and authentic learning experiences!

    Hi, Pirates! This will be my tenth year teaching. I hold Bachelor’s and Master's degrees in Early Childhood Education. I just recently graduated with my Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction. In addition, I have Reading and Gifted Endorsements. I am equally passionate about teaching reading and mathematics! I am so excited about partnering with you and your child this year!

     Sorrow Olivia Parker
    My name is Olivia Parker! This will be my third year teaching and as a Poole's Mill Pirate. I graduated from the University of North Georgia in 2021 and just received my masters in Curriculum and Instruction from GCSU. I love being in the classroom and building relationships with every student I have. During my free time, you can find me spending time with family and friends, playing board games or pickleball. I am very excited for this year and can’t wait for school to begin!

    This is my 20th year in teaching.  I have taught grades Prek - Fifth.  I got my BS in education at Montana State University/Bozeman.  I love to teach and see the ah-ha moments when students understand a concept.  I instill a love of learning in all of my students.

    Vaughn   Christy Vaughn
    I have been teaching in Forsyth County since 2014. I have taught 4th and 5th grades. I have a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and a Reading Endorsement from Reinhardt University. I am also certified to teach Health and Physical Education. My husband, Steven and I have two children - Grace and Corbin. We love spending time outside playing basketball, fishing, and hunting.

    The 2023-24 school year marks my 21st year teaching in Forsyth County and my very first year at Poole’s Mill Elementary! After teaching 3rd grade for several years, I spent eight years teaching 5th grade & seven years serving as Gifted Coordinator. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Science and a Master’s degree in Early Ed. My husband, Jeff, is a FoCo Firefighter. Our goal is to explore all 50 states in our great nation, so we love long car trips! Our son, Andy, graduated from KSU & is a statistician in NC. Our daughter, Ashley, is at Florida State University completing her PhD in Marine Biology. I am so excited to begin my adventure as a Poole’s Mill Pirate with the 5th grade team!
