I graduated from North Georgia College and State University with a Bachelors in Early Childhood Education and Special Education in 2006. I began my career teaching gifted resources and continued on to teach 3rd grade as a homeroom teacher. I received my Masters from NGCSU in 2008 and my Ed.S in School Leadership in 2012. I have had many roles in schools, including Math Coach, Instructional Technology Specialist, and Assistant Principal before being named Principal of CMES for the 2022-2023 school year.  When I am not at work, you can find me on the soccer field with my two boys, Jackson and Nathaniel, and my husband, Erik. As a family, we enjoy spending time outside with our dog, Rosie. 

I am thrilled to be starting by second year at Coal Mountain as the Assistant Principal! I hold a Bachelors and Masters in Early Childhood Education as well as Special Education and Educational Leadership certification. My roles in teaching have included serving as a 2nd and 4th grade teacher, Interrelated Resource teacher, Special Education Department Chair, and Quality Work Facilitator, and Assistant Principal. This will be my 18th year in education with the past seven years in Forsyth County Schools. Previously, I taught for Gwinnett County Schools. I have three sons. Logan, Brock, and Phoenix. Both Brock and Phoenix will be continuing their adventures on The Mountain as Miners, and we are all excited! In my personal time, I enjoy reading, exercising, cooking, family movie nights, and spending time outdoors. I am looking forward to a wonderful year on The Mountain!

I am delighted to serve the Coal Mountain family as the 1^st, 3^rd, and 5^th Grade Administrator! Prior to this position, I was a teacher for twelve years, Professional School Counselor for nine years, and Instructional Coach and Technology Specialist for three years. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Georgia, Master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of West Alabama, Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont University, and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Georgia. When I’m away from school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, reading, music, and UGA football! I love my role here at Coal Mountain as I have the wonderful privilege to serve and support students, parents, staff, and our community. I look forward to partnering with you throughout the year!
