Kim Auer

My name is Kim Auer and I was born in New York. I have lived in Georgia since I was two. I followed in my mom’s footsteps and became a teacher. I graduated from The University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in Child and Family development. I received my teaching certification from Brenau University.
I have been teaching for 24 years. I started my teaching career as an assistant first grade teacher at The Lovett School. I knew then that I wanted to get certified to teach my own class. I taught the state funded Pre-K program for 4 years while I was at Brenau.
I am happily married to Jason and we have three precious boys, TJ, who is 15½, Zack, who is 12½ and Logan who is 10. We also have two furry babies, Rory, and Luna.
I have lived in Cumming, Georgia for the past 18 years. I believe it is a wonderful place to raise a family. I am thrilled to be a part of the Kelly Mill Elementary family and I am very excited about this school year.

I am so excited to be entering my 19th year of teaching and my 9th year at Kelly Mill. Third grade is such a fun year and I am so happy to be your teacher! I graduated with my Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration and worked in corporate event planning before finding my true passion as a teacher. I earned my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Mercer University and I also have my gifted endorsement. I will be working toward my Specialist degree this year at Augusta University.

I grew up in upstate NY and moved to GA in 1998 to escape the cold. I have been married to my husband, Pete, for 18 years. We have two children, Ella (15) and Luke (13). I enjoy reading as well as spending time with my family and friends. I love to travel and explore new places. I am looking forward to a wonderful year with you!
