  • Financial Resources and Information

Financial Wellness, like the other attributes, is an active process through which people become aware of and make choices toward stability, contribution and independence while maintaining a balanced outlook for growth and contentment or peace of mind across the lifespan.

As financial concerns grow in Forsyth, TWC wants to share any resources and support available to help our community.

How we are Listening, Connecting and Mobilizing

Early financial literacy begins in grades K-5, where students learn to identify US coins and dollar bills, connect them to the base 10 number system, and solve real-world problems involving money.  Many elementary classrooms also use a currency-based behavior management system, where students learn the basics of spending, saving, and goal-setting.

Business/Finance CTAE Pathways (6-12): Students are taught money management, maintaining a checking account, budgeting, saving, and short-term/long-term investing.  At the high school level, there are two pathways offered in Finance - Advanced Accounting and Business Accounting.  There are other pathways in development at Georgia DOE, Financial Technology.
