    Georgia’s Dual Enrollment Program provides funding for students who are dually enrolled at a participating eligible public or private high school, or home study program in Georgia, and a participating eligible postsecondary institution in Georgia. These students take postsecondary coursework for credit towards both high school graduation or home study completion and postsecondary degree, diploma, or certificate requirements. The program is offered during all terms of the school year: fall, spring and summer semester or fall, winter, spring and summer quarter.

    Student Eligibility for Dual Enrollment:

    • A student must be enrolled in and physically attending a participating eligible public or private high school in Georgia or an eligible participating home study program in Georgia.

    • A student must be approved, by the participating high school or home study program at which he or she is enrolled, to participate in dual enrollment.

    • Prior to participating in Dual Enrollment, as part of the application process, the student and student’s parent/guardian must complete the Student Participation Agreement (SPA).

    • A student must have completed the admission process and been accepted and approved by the participating postsecondary institution.

    • All postsecondary coursework must be completed prior to high school graduation or home study completion in order to receive Dual Enrollment credit and funding.

    Grade Level Eligibility

    11th & 12th Graders

    • Eligible students may take any approved Dual Enrollment courses listed on the Course Directory, at an eligible participating postsecondary institution (USG, TCSG or private).

    10th Graders

    • Eligible students may enroll in approved Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) courses listed on the Course Directory at a participating TCSG institution only.

    • Eligible students who have a minimum SAT score of 1200 or minimum ACT composite score of 26 in a single national test administration, may enroll in any approved courses listed on the Course Directory at a TCSG, USG or private eligible participating postsecondary institution.

    Note: GSFC must have the required test score(s) on file prior to the student completing the Dual Enrollment funding Application and the high school or home study approving courses.  

    • Students that were 9th graders during the 2019-2020 school year and participated in Dual Enrollment during the 2019-2020 (FY 2020) year may enroll as 10th graders in any approved Dual Enrollment courses listed on the Course Directory at an eligible participating postsecondary institution (USG, TCSG or private) for the 2020-2021 year.

    9th Graders

    • Students in the 9th grade are not eligible to participate in the Dual Enrollment funding Program.

    Public High School Students pursuing an Accelerated Career Diploma

    Public high school students, designated by their high school, pursing an Accelerated Career Diploma as of Spring term 2020, may enroll in any approved Dual Enrollment courses at a TCSG, USG or private eligible participating postsecondary institution.

    • Public high school students, designated by their high school, as pursuing an Accelerated Career Diploma starting Summer term 2020 or after are subject to the Funding Cap.

    Course Retake & Withdrawals

    • A student may not receive funding to repeat or retake a course.

    • A student is no longer eligible to continue to receive program funding after withdrawing from Dual Enrollment course(s) two (2) times.

    Funding Cap Eligibility

    • The Dual Enrollment Funding Cap is 30 semester or 45 quarter hours.

    • The Funding Cap is a hard cap based on hours paid by the Dual Enrollment funding program for terms of enrollment (as invoiced by the postsecondary institutions).

    • The Funding Cap does not include dual credit coursework attempted and paid by other sources.

    • The Dual Enrollment Funding Cap is 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for students who received Dual Enrollment funding for 18 semester or 27 quarter or less hours, through Spring term 2020.

    • The Dual Enrollment Funding Cap for students who received Dual Enrollment funding for 19 semester or 29 quarter or more hours, through Spring term 2020, is extended for an additional 12 semester hours or 18 quarter hours of funding.

    • Public high school students, designated by their high school, as pursuing an Accelerated Career Diploma  starting Summer term 2020 or after are subject to the Funding Cap.

    • Public high school students designated by their high school, as pursuing an Accelerated Career Diploma  as of Spring term 2020, may continue to complete their pathway while participating in the Dual Enrollment funding program and are not subject to the Funding Cap.

    • Dual Enrollment funding per term is a maximum of 15 semester or 12 quarter hours and a maximum of three semesters or four quarters per award year based on approved enrollment and available Funding Cap hours.

    Upon reaching the 30 semester or 45 quarter hours program Funding Cap, a student may qualify for funding or may choose to self-pay.

    Students have the opportunity to take college courses to simultaneously satisfy high school graduation requirements while earning college credit. If you are a Georgia resident, you may qualify to participate in dual enrollment. Georgia’s programs, administered by the Georgia Student Finance Commission, provides eligible students with awards for their tuition and approved fees, for eligible college courses taken prior to their high school graduation. The tuition and eligible fees are paid for by Georgia's Dual Enrollment program.

    Step 3: Ask your high school to send us your official high school transcript, either directly from the high school to us in a sealed envelope, or electronically through .  

    Step 4: SAT and ACT test scores must be sent electronically through the or Test scores printed on high school or college transcripts will not be accepted. You may request the College Board to send your SAT scores to account #5497, or your ACT scores to account #0848, regardless of which campus you want to attend. Test scores printed on high school or college transcripts will not be accepted.

    Step 5:  Submit your verification of if you wish to pay in-state tuition. This is not required if you pay out-of-state tuition. Out-of-state tuition is much higher than in-state tuition. Admission to UNG is not contingent upon proof of lawful presence.

    Step 6: Continue to monitor your application status as you are completing steps 1-5 to ensure we have received all required documents. .

    Step 7: Complete the required by GSFC to process program funding.

    Step 3: Transcript Request.  Submit a request to your high school to send us an official in-progress transcript directly from the high school by email, through an electronic service such as Parchment or GAfutures, or via mail in a sealed envelope.

     

    Step 4:  Provide appropriate placement scores.  We will review your high school in-progress transcript for placement. 

    • High school GPA of 2.00 for students seeking entry to certificate or diploma programs of study.
    • High school GPA of 2.60 for students seeking entry to associate degree programs of study

    If your high school GPA does not meet the placement requirements listed above, we can consider the following: 

    • Validated assessment scores on SAT, ACT, PSAT, or PreACT if the scores meet the college program’s required minimums.  These required minimum scores can be found here:  .
    • If using an SAT or ACT to satisfy placement, the official scores must be received directly from the testing agency.  
    • Please NOTE:  If you complete an AP Exam and want to use it as a pre-requisite to a course you want to enroll in, you must request the official AP scores by mail from the testing agency.  
    • Although not required, students are encouraged to send all scores from all testing sessions. We evaluate applications each time updated information is received.
    • Lanier Technical College will evaluate the highest SAT, ACT, PSAT or ACCUPLACER test scores. 

    Step 5: Check your Application Status:  Link:   - Your admission status reflects your outstanding documents required for your application. You can review what information is needed and what documents have been received.

     

    Step 6Check your email. Lanier Technical College will send a variety of emails to the email address provided on the application. These emails will include important information about your next steps. 

     

    Once you have been accepted to LTC, we will only relay information to your student email address.  This will be the official means of communication once accepted.  Instructions on how to setup your email account will be sent with your acceptance email.  You may also review our website for further instructions on setting up your LTC resources.    

     

    Your acceptance email will have the steps to follow for registration of classes.  You must follow these important steps in order to secure your course schedule.  Acceptance to the College does not mean you are registered for courses.  Registration is a separate process than acceptance.  

     

    All programs and courses are on a space available basis and some programs may have limited space wherein a waitlist may be established.
