    		 Rachel Asworth

    Hello! My name is Rachel Ashworth and I am so excited to be teaching third grade! I graduated in 2012 from Georgia College with a degree in Special Education and received my Masters in Education from the University of Georgia. Vickery Creek Elementary is the most special place to lead, learn, and grow and I am so thankful to be here! When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Tim, my daughters, Taylor Jane and Annie, and our Goldendoodle, Murphy.  As a family, we love to cheer on the Georgia Bulldogs, go fishing, and spend time at the beach. I also enjoy spending time with friends, reading, and shopping! I am looking forward to a wonderful year!

    Hi! My name is Andrea Harris. I have been working in the field of education for over 30 years, and I hold a master’s degree from Oglethorpe University. I believe that it is an amazing privilege to be entrusted with the responsibility of working with children. My students have taught me that being a good teacher is so much more than just covering curriculum. I realize that sometimes the smallest things I say and do have the biggest impact. I strive to help keep students’ natural curiosity alive by showing them that learning is both rewarding and fun.

    I live in Cumming with my husband of 30 years, our daughter, who recently graduated from the University of Georgia, and our two puppy dogs. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and doing anything outdoors.

    I am happy to start a new school year, and I look forward to the excitement ahead!

    Hi, my name is Jessica Howington and this will be my 10th year teaching.  I am passionate about inspiring and loving children while encouraging them to find their joy for learning! I received my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education at West Georgia. Since I've obtained my Master and Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and am certified in ESOL. I have a very supportive family and a poodle named Dixie. I enjoy traveling, outdoors, and shopping. I can’t wait to meet this year’s fabulous 3rd grade Vikings and parents, together we will make it the most rewarding year for your child!!

    Hi! I am so excited about starting our year together!

    I was born in South Carolina, but I grew up in the Blairsville, Georgia. I married my husband, Scott, four years ago. We reside in Cumming with our cat, Penelope. I enjoy going to the movies, shopping for antiques, creating DIY projects, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

    I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Special Education with an endorsement in Reading from the University of North Georgia in 2016. This will be my sixth year teaching 3rd grade.

    I love being a part of the VCE family, and I am thrilled to work with you and your child this school year! 😊

    Hi! My name is Katie Keith, and I am 28 years old. I live in Holly Springs with my husband, Brandon and my puppies, Cooper and Winston. We are expecting a baby boy this December.  I enjoy traveling, being with my family, and anything Disney! I was born and raised in Forsyth County and attended all Forsyth County Schools. I also coach cheerleading at Forsyth Central. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with a Reading Endorsement from Reinhardt University in 2017. I received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Georgia Southern in 2020. This will be my seventh-year teaching at VCE and my fourth-year teaching third grade. I am so proud to be a Viking and can’t wait for all the fun we are going to have this year!

    		 Ansley Kirkland
    Hey friends! My name is Ansley Kirkland, and I am so excited to be joining the 3rd grade team at Vickery Creek.  I earned my B.S. in Elementary Education with a reading endorsement from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia.  I will also be coaching cheerleading at West Forsyth High School this year.  I am blessed to have a wonderful family including my fur baby Kelso.  he is my 3 year old golden retriever.  In my free time, you can find me playing with my dog, shopping, and spending time with family.  Fun fact about me is that my mom is Mrs. Sealey who teaches 5th grade ELA here at  VCE!  I cannot wait to spread my love and passion for teaching with my little leaders each day.  Together we will have the best year full of learning and making memories.  Go Vikings!

      Lisa Landis
     Hi Friends!  I am Ms. Landis and the first thing you need to know about me is that I love reading!!  

    I have two sons, Preston and Wesley who are grown, and two dogs, Ziggy and Wiley. I like to read, garden, play on the lake, explore nature, visit my family, and make DIY craft projects. I also love to write, especially poems, when the mood is right.

    My wildly important goal every year at school is to share my love of reading (and writing) with VCE students. One of my favorite things to do is to help friends find a good book to read.

    I am excited to begin my 26th year of teaching and my 7th year at VCE. I have taught 3rd grade for 6 of those years, and I think it is awesome! We will have an amazing year together.

      Mary Shaw
    Hi, I am so excited about starting our year together!  I grew up in New York and moved to Georgia during college.  I attended UGA for my undergraduate degree and Mercer University for my graduate studies, where I earned my Masters in Early Childhood Education with a Reading Endorsement.   This will be my 25th year of teaching, with this being my 18th year at VCE.

    My wonderful husband, David and I just celebrated 25 years of marriage.   We have two terrific kids. Robert, who is a recent graduate from Georgia Tech and Kayla, who is beginning her junior year at The University of North Georgia in Dahlonega this fall. We also have three fur babies.  Layla, our Beagle, is the old sassy lady of the family. Buster, our three year old yellow lab, is the well-known celebrity resident therapy dog you will see around VCE. And the newest member of our family, is our black lab puppy Bailey. She will be following in the footsteps of her big brother Buster and will be training to be a Canine Good Citizen Therapy Dog. I am so excited to be able to share Buster and Bailey with the students and staff at VCE.  Looking forward to growing leaders and to have the opportunity to work with you and your child this school year!
