The Preliminary SAT, also known as the PSAT/NMSQT® (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test), is a practice version of the SAT exam.  The PSAT is about three hours long and tests skills in reading, writing, and math.  The highest score possible on the PSAT is 1520.  Earning a high score on the PSAT/NMSQT during the student's junior year (11th grade) could qualify them to receive a National Merit Scholarship.  After taking the test, students who provided an email address on their PSAT answer sheet will receive an electronic score report in mid-December.  A paper score report is also available from EFH upon request.  Students can log in to or create a College Board account online to link to free, personalized SAT practice through Khan Academy after scores are released.
