In partnership with Lanier Technical College and Communities in Schools of Georgia, Forsyth County Schools opened the Forsyth Academy, a non-traditional high school, originally located on the Forsyth campus of Lanier Tech in the fall of 2005.  Forsyth Academy has since moved to the Academies of Creative Education building located at 1160 Dahlonega Hwy, Cumming, GA 30040.

As a non-traditional high school, The Forsyth County Academy is another route to graduation for those students seeking an educational opportunity outside of the traditional school setting or students looking for an alternative to the traditional school setting.

Students work at an accelerated pace using online, computer-based curriculum supplemented with offline projects and assignments to ensure that all Georgia Performance  and Common Core Standards are met and that the curriculum is rigorous and relevant. If behind, they will be able to catch up academically or move ahead and graduate early.

A caring, highly trained staff will be employed to help students achieve their social and academic goals with a student-teacher ratio of 20 to 1. A flexible academic schedule will help students overcome personal obstacles that have prevented academic achievement.  Students will develop marketable skills in preparation for college and/or the workplace through internships, dual college enrollment and technical training.
